We’re Seven Four Records, out of Melbourne, Australia, looking to bring you a selection of the best math/post-rock sounding alt/punk/indie/rock/experimental records out there. It’s hard to narrow it down, trust us, we tried.
The genres math, post-rock, experiemental etc. can come with some preconceived notions usually along the lines of “This sounds like a bunch of dudes wanking over their instruments.” But this isn’t always true!
We may like bands that play in weird time signatures and with non-standard song structures – but that doesn’t mean only techo musos will enjoy this music. The records we write about retain all the technicality that makes that style of music great, but also retain a sense of fun which makes them enjoyable.
So not only will we review releases, but we will also be distributing physical copies of these records (as cool as downloading is, you can’t beat super cool artwork and inserts!) and make these great bands more accessible to Australia (and of course the world!).
Eventually – we’ll be recording and releasing bands on the Seven Four label!
